Congratulations, you are now a CNCC Nursing Student! We are excited to walk this educational path with you. This page contains several links and other resources to help you get the most out of your education. And remember, if the information you need is not here, reach out to one of our Nursing Faculty or Staff Members – we are here to help you!

Student Expectations & Handbooks

Welcome to Sparta! Here at CNCC we take pride in making sure our students get a quality education that is both affordable and accessible. We strive to be the college of choice for students who want a unique education in the midst of colorful Colorado’s northwest frontier.

The CNCC Course Catalog is not just a resource for researching and selecting classes; it also outlines the assessment process and other academic expectations for CNCC students. All students are expected to read, understand, and adhere to the student conduct requirements as listed in the CNCC Course Catalog and CNCC Student Handbook.

As a CNCC Nursing Student, you will be expected to follow the policies and procedures that are outlined in the CNCC Student Handbook. It is the responsibility of each student to read, understand, and maintain current knowledge of student expectations and CNCC polices while enrolled in classes. Please take some time each semester to review any changes or updates to the CNCC Student Handbook.

Once you have applied to and been accepted into the CNCC Nursing Program you will also be expected to read, understand, and adhere to the standards, policies and procedures outlined in the CNCC Allied Health Student Handbook. Please be sure to read this handbook carefully and fully understand its contents as you will be required to sign an acknowledgement form every year stating you reviewed and understand the contents therein.

Learning Resources

If you are a student who struggles with studying or who has learning difficulties, we want you to know that you are not alone, and that we have a number of resources here at CNCC to help you get the most out of your education. From tutoring and study help, to requesting formal learning accommodations, we want to help you break down any barriers that threaten to stand between you and your future goals.

Accommodations are services that include, but are not limited to, audio books, extended time on test, use of calculator on test, or preferred seating. If you've ever had a 504, IEP, service animal, etc., and would like to continue getting accommodations; submit a request by following the below link:

In Spring 2025, the CNCC Nursing Faculty Identified the need for timelier and more program specific study helps and learning resources for nursing students. To help meet this need, our Allied Health Nursing Faculty began hosting study sessions directed at helping nursing students find ways to succeed in their studies.

These sessions are held every other Monday throughout the fall and springs semesters and cover everything from planning your schedule around clinical rotations to writing an APA style essay. Each session is held during the lunch break for nursing students (12:00-1:00PM) and each session lasts about 30-45 minutes. While directed primarily at our current nursing and pre-nursing students, these sessions are open to any CNCC student. Students are encouraged to bring their lunches on the days these sessions are being offered and to participate in these valuable learning opportunities. Topics are announced at the start of each month and flyers will be posted around the college for each month’s sessions.
