Early Childhood Education AA

The Associate of Arts (AA) in Early Childhood Education at Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) provides a strong foundation for students planning to pursue a bachelor's degree and a teaching license in early childhood education. This 60-credit program is part of a statewide articulation agreement, ensuring seamless transfer to designated four-year institutions in Colorado, including Adams State, Colorado Mesa University, Colorado State University-Fort Collins, Fort Lewis College, Metropolitan State University, University of Colorado-Denver, and University of Northern Colorado.

Students will complete coursework in early childhood education techniques, child growth and development, guidance strategies, and family and community engagement, gaining the skills necessary to support young children's learning and development. The first 51 credit hours are common across all transfer institutions, while the remaining 9 elective credits must be carefully selected based on the specific requirements of the intended four-year school.

Upon successful transfer, students will enter their chosen four-year institution as a junior and continue toward earning a Bachelor’s degree and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
