CPR-AED & First Aid

CPR-AED & First Aid

Saving lives is the focus of Colorado Northwestern Community College’s CPR-AED and First Aid Courses. The classes use the American Heart Association’s curriculum to teach these skills and award certification.

Basic Life Saving

Basic Life Saving (BLS) courses are taught to health care professionals, like firefighters, nurses, EMTs, and students preparing to enter nursing and dental hygiene programs to satisfy the requirements for periodic certification and training.

Heartsaver

Heartsaver is designed to engage everyday community members in basic CPR-AED/First Aid training for adults, with an option to add additional training in pediatric emergency care.

Two Ways to Earn Your Certificate

The college offers both courses in two formats: traditional face-to-face instruction or a blended learning option. For blended learning students complete the first part of their course online through the American Heart Association and then complete their training with a short skills practice and test.

Students that successfully complete courses, receive an American Heart Association CPR/First Aid card (delivered digitally) valid for two years, a booklet to keep, any PPE, and the expertise of our medically trained instructors.

Customized Training

For large groups, the college offers customized training delivered in our facilities or on-site in yours.
