Are you ready to move to a better paying job? Has the lack of a high school degree been holding you back? CNCC is ready to help you earn your GED.

 The process is simple:

  1. Craig/Moffat County residents call Annette at 970-824-0831, Rangely and Meeker residents call Sasha at 970-824-1118 and register for the pre-GED test. The pre-GED will help to determine if you are ready for the actual exam, or to find areas you need to work on.

What is the GED test?

The GED (General Educational Development) Test is an exam that is the equivalent of a high school diploma. The GED involves four tests that measure the lasting outcome of a high school education. Students are tested in the following areas:

  • Language Arts: Writing & Reading
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Math

Who can take the GED test?

Students must be 17 years old to take the GED test.

When is the GED test offered?

GED testing is held once a month, usually on the second Friday, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at CNCC’s Craig campus.

How much does taking the GED cost?

The complete four-part test is $150. If you need to re-test you only need to pay for the sections you take. You will need to pay for the test at the time you register.

How do I register for the test?

There are two easy ways to register: Log on to or call (877) 392-6433. When you register, you will be given a confirmation of date, time and place. Be sure to bring a government-issued photo i.d. that includes your birth date (a valid driver’s license is perfect).

Where is the test given?

The GED test is administered fully online, but you need to come to one of our testing centers at CNCC, in Craig at 2801 W. 9th St, in Rangely at 500 Kennedy Drive, or in Meeker at 345 6th St.

How do I prepare for the GED test?

Students are encouraged to take the Pre-GED Assessment offered through the Adult Basic Education at CNCC prior to taking the actual GED exam. If you are not ready to take the exam, CNCC offers courses through Community Education that are designed to help you prepare for the test.
